Glass fusing workshops. Full or Half Day. No Experience necessary.  This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for anyone who has some experience but prefers a more one to one approach rather thana group environment.

In this workshop you can produce your own choice of objects such as glass bowls of various shapes, coasters, wall hangings, flowers, trinket trays or sun catchers.  The choices are endless!  The largest piece you can make will be up to a maximum of 30cm square (full day) or 20cm square (half day), with the opportunity to make a couple of smaller pieces too if you have time. It is also possible to make a lantern on a full day.

There is a limit of 2 people per workshop enabling much faster learning.

The advantage of a small class is that you can experiment with many different effects and techniques with an experienced Glass Artist on hand for true one to one learning.  There is a minimum age limit for insurance purposes of 16 years or older unless accompanied by a guardian who is also booked onto the course.

Areas covered: design, scoring and glass cutting, fused glass compatibility, firing cycles, slumping, the 6mm rule, types of glass such as frit, stringers and powders, inclusions, and many other areas and decorative techniques.

The fusing and slumping in the kiln will take place after the workshop and the results can be collected, or posted to you at an additional cost. 

Please ensure you wear closed toe shoes and we suggest that you bring a packed lunch if attending for the full day.  Tea and coffee will be provided for all sessions.

• Price for a full day is £165 per person (max 2) which includes all tuition, use of tools, materials, firings and refreshments (10:00am – 4:30pm).  One to One tuition for a full day is also available and priced at £295.
  
• Price for a half day is £85 per person (max 2) which includes all tuition, use of tools, materials, firings and refreshments (times are 9.30am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 4:30pm).  
  
• One to One tuition for a half day is also available and priced at £165

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a course you have booked, please let me know as soon as possible. If you give at least 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a full refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give between 2 and 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a 50% refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give less than two weeks’ notice you are not eligible for any refund, but where possible I will endeavour to offer an alternative date if the course you are unable to attend can still viably go ahead without your booking. No refunds or alternative dates can be offered if you don’t contact me before the course is due to take place.
